The Top 10 Tile Trends of 2025

While many trends from 2024 are sticking around, there are also new styles to discover.

1.   Textured Tile

Textured tile is the most prominent 2025 tile trend by far. You’ll see lots of floor and wall tile with a textured, handmade look this year. Zellige-style tile (check out our blog post on the subject here), brick-look tile, textured natural stone, and terracotta are quickly rising in popularity.

Also popular in 2025 are sculptural and 3D porcelain and ceramic tiles. Any tile that creates a sense of movement and visual interest with its textured surface is a great choice.

Above, we’ve selected a brick-look ceramic tile to represent this 2025 trend. It’s from the Urban Brick collection and serves as a unique adaptation of brick with excellent definition and texture. The realism achieved with this product adds to its versatility, and its neutral color palette fits into both rustic and modern spaces. Aside from the Blanco shade pictured, this tile is also available in Gris, Taupe, and Anthracite.

2.   Color Drenching and Stone Drenching

Sunstone Sand Mosaic 12x12 Porcelain Tile

Color drenching and stone drenching are two similar trends that will become increasingly popular over the coming year. Color drenching refers to “drenching” the room with a single color by using the same shade on the floor, walls, and ceiling. Meanwhile, stone drenching involves using the same type of natural stone (or stone-look porcelain) throughout the entire space.

In the photo above, you’ll see that variations of the same shade of sunstone-look porcelain tile have been used everywhere - on the floor, as a backsplash, on the walls, in the shower, and even on the ceiling. These tiles perfectly capture the rich textures and natural beauty of real stone while offering porcelain’s durability and minimal maintenance requirements. This creates a cohesive, elegant, and luxurious look that upscales the bathroom.

3.   Checkerboard Tile

Vintage black and white checkerboard tile is making a comeback - or did it ever really leave? There’s a reason why traditional black and white tile is a classic! Other vintage styles are also gaining popularity this year.

Above, we’ve linked simple white and black porcelain tiles from the Marrakech collection. Combining these bold colors creates a classic look that fits nearly any space. You could also explore black and white mosaics rather than purchasing two different tiles for the checkerboard look.

4.   Warm Colors and Earth Tones

Scabos Travertine Tumbled 2” Hexagon Mosaic Tile

Shop The Trend: Scabos Travertine Tumbled 2” Hexagon Mosaic Tile

We’re currently seeing more warm colors in general, as well as warm earth tones specifically. Similar to the past couple of years, interior design trends largely seem to be shifting away from cool-toned, sterile shades of white, gray, and beige in favor of richer, more welcoming colors. Warm white, warm natural stone, and warm shades of wood-look porcelain and luxury vinyl tile are all perfect for this trend.

This aligns with Pantone’s 2025 Color of the Year: Mocha Mousse. It’s described as “a warming, brown hue imbued with richness. It nurtures us with its suggestion of the delectable qualities of chocolate and coffee, answering our desire for comfort.”

We’ve chosen a beautiful Scabos Travertine mosaic tile to represent this trend. This type of natural stone has a glowing golden base with swirling deposits of diffused red, gold, orange, light cream, brown, and dark gray.

5.   Mosaic Tile

Aquatic Penta Green Glass Mosaic Tile

Mosaic tile will continue to be in style in 2025. It’s a great way to add personality to a space, whether you use it for an entire feature wall (as seen in the picture above) or for a small backsplash. Mosaic tile comes in various materials, including natural stone, porcelain, ceramic, and glass, as well as numerous patterns and color schemes, so there’s something to fit any room.

We absolutely love the glass tile featured above. It’s from the Aquatic collection, which has a vibrant, reflective surface and a sophisticated color palette. While it was created primarily for use in pools, its water resistance and durability also make it an excellent choice for showers, bathroom walls, and kitchen backsplashes.

6.   Slim Geometric Tile

Shop The Trend: Venice Azul Picket 2x10 Ceramic Tile

Geometric tile has been in style for the past several years, but in 2025, we’re seeing slimmer variations of traditional shapes. For example, picket tile, which has an elongated hexagon shape, is gaining traction.

Meanwhile, herringbone, chevron, and subway tile with long, slim planks are also becoming increasingly popular.

Above, you’ll see a gorgeous deep blue picket tile from the Venice collection, which also comes in the shades Acero, Blanco, Black, Gris, and Verde. This collection focuses on geometric shapes with trendy contemporary colors, adding plenty of personality to your interior design.

7.   Bold Patterns

Bold patterns are once again taking center stage after years of plainer, more neutral tile. Above, we’ve selected an eye-catching black, white, and gray patterned tile from the Marrakech collection, which features numerous other bold patterns to explore. If you love stripes, intersecting diamonds, terrazzo-inspired styles, flowers, or classic black and white chevron, the Marrakech collection just might have exactly what you’re looking for.

Other types of bold tile patterns to consider include scallop and basketweave patterns in bright or contrasting colors. Chevron and herringbone, which we’ve already mentioned in this article, also fit the bold pattern trend.

8.   Natural Materials/Natural-Look Tile

Shop The Trend: Deco Wood White 10.5x71 Porcelain Tile and Emporio Calacatta Gold Polished 12x24 Marble Porcelain Tile

There’s been a return to natural (and natural-looking) materials in recent years, particularly in warm tones. If genuine hardwood, natural stone, and marble aren’t in your budget, consider their luxury vinyl tile (LVT), porcelain, and ceramic lookalikes. These typically come at a much lower price point, beautifully imitate the look of natural materials, and have benefits like increased durability and easier maintenance.

In the photos above, you’ll see a wood-look porcelain tile and a marble-look porcelain tile. The wood-look tile is from our Deco collection, which “captures the natural beauty of hardwood with a sophisticated, understated sheen. These tiles bring a warm, organic feel to your home while offering the practicality and ease of maintenance that only porcelain can provide.” The marble-look tile is from the Emporio collection, which contains exquisite tiles with the classic beauty of natural marble and the lasting performance of porcelain.

9.   Pastel Shades

Chanelle Princess Pink 3x12 Ceramic Tile

Shop The Trend: Chanelle Princess Pink 3x12 Ceramic Tile

While not quite as popular as warm earth tones, pastels are experiencing a resurgence. One of our favorite pastel shades is pink, as you can see from our selection above. This tile from the Chanelle collection, which consists of several textured tiles inspired by the movement of water, is aptly named Princess Pink.

Pastels are soft, light colors that can promote calmness and relaxation. This makes them a great option for bedrooms and bathrooms, as they can induce a sense of serenity. Learn more about color psychology (how colors affect mood) in this blog post.

10.                Large-Format Tile

Reves Perle Matte 24x24 Porcelain Tile

Shop The Trend: Reves Perle Matte 24x24 Porcelain Tile

Large-format tile is another trend that has been around for a while and doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. (Check out our large-format tile buyer’s guide.) A few benefits of this type of tile include its ability to visually expand the room, its modern and sleek appearance, its cost-effectiveness, and the fact that it has very few grout lines - meaning it requires less maintenance. Large-format tile is also very versatile and can be used on both floors and walls, as seen above.

The large-format porcelain tile we selected to represent this trend measures two feet by two feet and is inspired by onyx, with creamy beige tones and delicate veining.
