Frequently asked questions
What is scallop tile?
Also called fish scale or fan tile: a rounded, overlapping shape laid like scales. Ours are glazed ceramic, mostly in soft greens, blues, whites and blush tones.
Where does scallop tile work best?
Shower walls, bathroom feature walls, kitchen backsplashes and fireplace surrounds. The curved shape catches light, so it suits glossy glazes and small rooms.
Is scallop tile hard to install?
It is laid like any wall tile but needs a little more care at the edges, where half-scales are cut. Lay the first row level and work up. Matching trim is limited, so plan the top edge with a Schluter strip or a pencil liner.
Can scallop tile go on a floor?
Ceramic scallop is a wall tile. For floors choose a porcelain fishscale mosaic instead.
Do you sell samples?
Yes. Most items have a sample listing linked from the product page. Colors and glaze variation look different on every screen, so we recommend ordering samples before you buy by the box.
How fast does it ship?
Orders ship in 2–3 business days from our US warehouses. Boxed tile ships by ground or LTL freight depending on weight; samples ship by parcel.
