Description
Carrara White Marble 1x2 Split-Faced Mosaic Tile
Carrara White Marble 1x2 split-faced mosaic tile. White Italian marble with gray veining, split rather than sawn, so each 1x2 chip has a rough, uneven face. Mesh-mounted on sheets of about 12x12, the chips cast small shadows that change through the day. It pairs with plaster walls, matte black or bronze fixtures and warm walnut. Use it on a fireplace surround or a powder room accent wall lit from above.
For walls only: accent walls, fireplace surrounds, niches and sealed shower walls. The textured face is not made for floors. Seal after installation, since a rough surface holds more dust and water than a flat tile, and wipe up acidic spills; marble etches. Order a sample to see the actual lot before you buy. In stock and ships in 2–3 business days.
The Carrara White Collection brings the classic elegance of genuine white Carrara marble, with soft grey veining and natural variation. This 1″ × 2″ split‑faced mosaic tile offers a textured, dimensional surface — perfect for adding tactile depth, subtle shadow play, and refined architectural detail to any interior.
Key Features:
• Material: Natural Carrara white marble with soft grey veining
• Finish / Texture: Split‑faced (textured, uneven surface) — natural stone texture rather than smooth polished or honed finish
• Size(s): Small 1″ × 2″ chips assembled as mesh‑mounted mosaic sheets (approx. 12″ × 12″ sheet size, with individually split‑faced chip dimensions approx. 1″ × 2″)
• Water Absorption / PEI Rating: Natural stone — PEI rating not applicable; water absorption low to moderate when properly sealed
Applications:
• Accent walls and feature wall panels (living rooms, bedrooms, hallways)
• Bathroom or shower walls (when sealed properly) for a textured, spa‑like finish
• Fireplace surrounds or feature niches — adding depth and tactile interest
• Entryways, powder rooms, or decorative alcoves where texture and dimension add character
• Residential and light‑commercial interiors (walls primarily; floors not recommended due to uneven texture)
Why Choose the Carrara White 1″ × 2″ Split‑Faced Mosaic Tile?
• Textured Depth & Visual Interest – The split‑faced surface creates subtle shadows and natural depth, giving walls a dynamic, tactile quality.
• Authentic Marble Aesthetic – Carrara marble veining and natural stone variation bring timeless sophistication while the texture adds character.
• Low‑Maintenance Elegance – Once sealed, the natural stone surface offers durability and lasting beauty with minimal upkeep.
• Versatile Design Potential – Complements smooth polished or honed tiles in the Carrara White collection for contrast; also pairs well with minimalist, rustic, or modern interiors.
• Architectural Accent Option – Ideal when you want to add understated texture and stone character without overwhelming a space — perfect for accent zones or decorative walls.
Care Instructions:
• Clean with a pH‑neutral stone cleaner and a soft cloth or brush, taking care not to disturb the textured surface too roughly.
• Avoid acidic or abrasive cleaners which might damage the marble or wear down its textured finish.
• Seal periodically to protect against moisture, stains and wear — especially important in bathrooms, wet zones, or areas with occasional water exposure.
• Wipe spills promptly to prevent staining, especially in shower areas or kitchen backsplashes.
